INDOOR PET photo essay

Inspired by the experience of lockdown ‘Indoor Pet’ illustrates the story of a cat’s day indoors. The photos tell the tragedy that is the life of an indoor pet. The shots are not chronological, conveying a sense of timelessness, as if the days blur together. Each shot shows the pet in a different ordinary circumstance, and their emotional state during which remains relatively consistent. The tone is dark and sad, as is the situation. This photo essay is inspired by the poor mental health suffered by those in lockdown. Now that humans know how terrible it is to watch the world through a window for a few months, we should ask why we subject our pets to an entire life indoors.
